Bhubaneswar: The 4MT capacity Koira Iron Ore Mine of EMIL, an Aditya Birla Group Company has been conferred the 5 Star Rating by the Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India. The felicitation ceremony was held on 15th Feb ’17 at New Delhi during the 2nd National Conclave on Mines & Minerals.

Mr. Ashok Kumar Bal, CEO, India Mining Operations, Mr. Prasanna Kumar Panda, Sr. President & Unit Head received the award from Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Mines, Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy in presence of dignitaries from the Ministry as well as industry houses across India.

This is the highest rating given to the mining companies for complying with a number of standards involving stringent evaluation and auditing process by the Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India i.e.:-

• Special award for rehabilitating Project Affected Families While evacuating the Bhadotola area, around 508 Project Affected Family (PAF) houses were required to be shifted in three different R&R sites, and this job was very challenging.
• Gold awards at 26th Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts EMIL bagged three Gold awards in Case Study competition and three awards in Quiz competition during the “26th Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts” held at the Rourkela Institute of Management Studies, Rourkela. The convention was hosted by QCFI-Rourkela Chapter from 22nd Sept to 23rd Sept’18.
