Iron Ore Beneficiation & Pelletization (IoBP)

Iron Ore Beneficiation & Pelletization plant (IOBP): Where Innovation Meets Efficiency

Essel Mining & Industries Limited (EMIL) is a frontrunner in iron ore processing, leveraging the world's first Circular Pelletization Technology (CPT) at its IOBP plant in Basantpur, Odisha.

Acquired in 2019, this state-of-the-art facility boasts a production capacity of 1 million tons per annum (MTPA) for both beneficiation and pelletization.

Unmatched Efficiency with CPT

The CPT technology, developed by Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH, offers a distinct advantage. Unlike traditional straight-grate systems, CPT utilizes a circular design, maximizing equipment usage. This translates to a smaller plant footprint, reduced energy consumption, and ultimately, lower production costs.

Beneficiation for Enhanced Quality

The IOBP employs a sophisticated beneficiation process, courtesy of technology from Allmineral GmbH, Germany. This system refines low-grade iron ore fines (typically 58-60% Fe) into a high-quality product suitable for various applications like Direct Reduced Iron (DRI), Sintering, and Pellet production.

Premium-Grade Iron Pellets

Following beneficiation, the iron ore is transformed into premium-grade pellets through the innovative CPT system. This technology offers producers the flexibility to manufacture customized pellets tailored for blast furnaces or direct reduction processes, meeting specific chemical and mechanical properties.

Zero-Waste Commitment

Environmentally responsible practices are a core principle at EMIL. The beneficiation process prioritizes water conservation by implementing a closed-loop system that reuses and recycles process water, achieving a state of Zero Effluent Discharge.

By combining cutting-edge technology with a commitment to environmental responsibility, EMIL's IOBP sets a new standard for the iron ore industry.
