Product specifications

Ferro Molybdenum
Material description: Ferro Molybdenum (FeMo)
Chemistry: Mo 60 % min.
C 0.10 % max.
P 0.06 % max.
S 0.06 % max.
Si 1.50 % max.
Al 0.50 % max.
Physical appearance: Glossy silver, free from slag, uniform structure, free from porosity and blow holes.
Size: 10-100 mm or as specified by customer.
Bulk density: 3.20 gm/cc -3.50 gm/cc
Apparent density: 9.0 gm/cc
Approximate melting range: 1750°c
Applications: Molybdenum is a potent hardening agent and is a constituent of many heat treatable alloy steels. It improves the corrosion resistance of stainless steels. In iron, it is effective in strengthening and hardening, causing austenite to transform to fine pearlite or bainite.

Ferro Vanadium
Material description: Ferro Vanadium (FeV) normal (FeV) High grade
Chemistry: V 50 % min. 78 % min.
C 0.10 % max. 0.10 % max
P 0.05 % max. 0.05 % max
S 0.05 % max. 0.05 % max.
Si 1.50 % max. 1.50 % max.
Al 1.50 % max. 1.50 % max.
Physical appearance: Glossy silver, free from slag, uniform structure, free from porosity and blow holes.
Size: 10-100 mm or as required.
Bulk density: 2.70 gm/cc -3.40 gm/cc
Apparent density:
9.0 gm/cc
Approximate melting range: 1600°C -1700°C
Applications: Vanadium imparts hardness, tensile strength and machining qualities. Vanadium steels are used for general engineering purposes. Addition of small quantities of vanadium (0.1%-0. 25%) imparts excellent welding characteristics, while a large amount (1%-5%) of vanadium with chromium and tungsten in steel is used to make high speed tools noted for hardness retention over a moderate temperature range. Vanadium steels are used in high-pressure boilers, locomotive parts, gears and turbines.

Ferro Titanium
Material description: Ferro Titanium (FeTi)
Chemistry: Ti 30 % min.
C 0.10 % max.
S 0.06 % max.
Al 6.00 % max.
P 0.10 % max.
Si 3.00 % max.
Physical appearance: Glossy Silver, free from slag, uniform structure, free from porosity and blow holes.
Size: 10-100 mm or as specified by customer's demand.
Bulk density: 2.65 gm/cc -3.20 gm/cc
Approximate melting range: 1400 °C-1450 °C
Applications: In gray iron, a small percentage promotes graphitisation. Titanium is highly reactive in steelmaking and combines readily, and forms stable compounds with carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur. Because of its reactivity, it may be used to fix these elements, reducing or eliminating their sometimes harmful effects.

Vanadium Pentoxide
Material description: Vanadium Pentoxide (V2O5)
Chemistry: V2O5 99.5 %
Si 0.12 % max.
Fe 0.05 % max.
S 0.05 % max.
Na2O 0.22 % max.
K2O 0.02 % max.
CaO 0.05 % max.
Al2O3 0.01 % max.
MgO 0.01 % max.
Sb 0.05 % max
P 0.05 % max.
Physical appearance: Brick red, free from slag, uniform structure, free from porosity and blow holes.
Size: As specified by customer.
Bulk density: 3.35gm/cc
Approximate melting range: 690°C
Applications: Unfused vanadium pentoxide is used in the manufacture of fertilisers, photographic developers, ink, insecticides, textiles dyeing, paints and varnishes, ceramic colours, leather and glass industries, and in the extraction of pthalic anhydride from naphthalene.
